Facebook & MySpace in Japan Not Growing, US Facebook Adoption Booming

Caught an article on techcrunch about the failing adoption of Facebook and MySpace in Japan and wanted give my twist on it. You don’t hear things like that in US news so thought I would share. Sized at an estimated $5.6 billion in 2007, Japan boasts one of the biggest online advertising markets in the world – a huge potential just waiting to be tapped by foreign social networks. The world’s two largest social networks, MySpace and Facebook, barely register in Japan. Read article on techcrunch.

What’s happening in the US Market for these 2?

- Blue Line is Myspace, Red Line Facebook
- Take a look at drop off in interest in MySpace these days and the rise in Facebook.
- In beginning of 2007 interest in MySpace started to wane

What’s your thoughts on MySpace these days? Personally I don’t participate in MySpace and use Facebook, Twitter, Friendfeed, etc. in Lieu. How about you??
